Mother's Day Food?

So, we don't get a lot of comments on the Delish Dish, but hopefully we can up them today.

B mentioned last night that she wanted deviled eggs because deviled eggs were a Mother's Day food. I don't think I've really thought about it. When you think of Mother's Day, what foods spring to mind? Please fill up the comments section--I want a discussion.

Oh, and Happy Mother's Day, Mom!

  1. In our house, Mother's Day food meant badly cooked eggs, yogurt with berries, freshly-squeezed orange juice (most likely with seeds), and a branch of some flowering plant from the backyard on a tray presented to Mom in bed (even though she was usually fully-dressed and had on her makeup)

  2. Pancakes and waffles on Mother's Day, because Dad cooked dinner. Maybe now and then hamburgers or something on the grill. But we had to be careful not to get too involved in the kitchen or else Mom would get sucked in and take over. I knew I had finally learned to cook when one Mother's Day I came over to visit, made a quiche for the family, and my mom asked me for my recipe because she liked it so much.
